The American Basketball Association is expanding for the upcoming season, and have a
new team in Universal City, TX. The Seraphim basketball team is owned by Adam E. Salyer, a former Universal City Councilman, and he's currently running for Mayor of Universal City. The American Basketball Association (ABA) has recently expanded and added a team in Universal
City, TX for the upcoming season. ABA co-founder Joe Newman said, “
Our Southwest Division is growing rapidly and is one of the strongest in the ABA. The addition of Adam E. Salyer and his Seraphim professional team should be a fabulous addition. He is quite a man.” Growing up, Salyer excelled in track becoming District MVP in Louisiana. Salyer said, “No matter how well I did in track, basketball was the sport I always loved. It truly dug at the very soul of me. I played everywhere I could find.” Salyer joined the military and traveled to 49 states and 5 countries. His exemplary 14 year career was cut short by injuries, including an incident that left him in a wheel chair. His prognosis at the time was he would never walk again. Salyer said, “I would not accept defeat. With hard work, extensive rehabilitation and God, I was able to walk again after 15 surgeries and my wife at my side.” Salyer continued, “So, I could have accepted my disability by sitting, but it could not define me. I went to school, got my degree and started my professional career. I have served two full terms on the City Council and am currently running for Mayor of Universal City. I am a professional singer, stand-up comedian, emcee/host, film actor, producer and author.
